Offertory boxes, Rato Chapel
Ceremonial objects commissioned by José Tolentino Mendonça to be used in the Eucharist at Rato Chapel. These are solid boxes without handles, sides, or directions designed to be passed from hand to hand. The small opening for the placement of alms highlights the concentration exerted at the time of offering. The single, continuous lateral surface enhances the sense of community.
